Miss Desirée Dabney is a powerhouse of passion, creativity, and purpose. An award-winning theatre artist, educator, and activist, she has dedicated her life to empowering others to discover their voice, embrace their potential, and step into their greatness—on stage and in life. Drawing from her journey as a professional actor, singer, director, and producer, as well as her groundbreaking work in theatre education, Miss Desirée delivers motivational talks that blend powerful storytelling with practical wisdom. Her speaking engagements are dynamic, engaging, and deeply personal, touching on themes such as resilience, leadership, diversity and inclusion, creative confidence, and the power of the arts to transform lives. She is the recipient of numerous honors, including the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award from Shenandoah University, Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2023, and NBC12’s Distinguished Black History Tribute. She made history as the first Black woman to develop theatre curriculum for the Virginia Department of Education and has mentored over 100 students and 50 theatre teachers nationwide.
